COVID-19 has got the world to come together on…. Social Media
We are going to take a look at what everyone has been keeping busy doing during this time of uncertainty.
Instagram trends come and go – remember the “Mannequin Challenge” of 2016 and the “Ice Bucket Challenge” of 2014?
With people social distancing and staying at home during the coronavirus crisis, many have taken to Instagram to pass the time and enjoy a light, fun distraction.
One recent trend is called the “Until Tomorrow Challenge” and it’s incredibly simple to join in with. All you need to do is post a silly or slightly embarrassing photo of yourself on Instagram with the caption “until tomorrow”.
Once it’s posted, you need to resist the urge to delete it for a full 24 hours.
As of Wednesday evening, the hashtag #untiltomorrow has over 352,000 posts with people sharing bad selfies and photos of themselves as children.
Since people are bored at home, quite a few Instagram challenges have been popping up. We are going to look at a couple more:
#see10do10
The challenge #see10do10 is a pushup challenge to encourage at-home workouts.
It goes as it sounds: Record a video doing 10 pushups, and then tag as many friends as you’d like to see do the same.
Jennifer Hudson gave the pushups a try, but didn’t quite pull it off.
Luckily, she had someone on hand to finish the challenge for her. Her assistant managed to complete 10 pushups in a second video.

#StayAtHomeChallenge / #ToiletRollChallenge
This Instagram trend features people testing how many keepy-uppies they can do with a roll of toilet paper.
Whoever takes part then posts a video of their efforts on their page, ideally tagging some friends encouraged to try it out.
The trend started with people completing just 10 keppy ups with the toilet roll. But then the challenge got competitive and challengers added various skills to the challenge trying to better their mates.
Numerous top footballers have joined in, including Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi and even Jamie Carragher in his swanky mansion.

Instagram also started hashtag #stayhome, complete with a sticker. Stories tagged with the sticker are compiled and added to a custom story to encourage people to stay home.
